January 8th - 12th

Day 1 : Arrive in Bozeman, meet your guides, and drive to Gardiner, Montana. The journey takes you through scenic Paradise Valley.

Days 2 & 3: Spend the morning in Lamar Valley in hopes of viewing the grey wolf in its natural habitat. After lunch when wolves have bedded down, explore more of the park and other wildlife viewing. Head back to Gardiner and enjoy dinner in local eateries at your leisure.

Day 4: Live it up on one final day in Yellowstone before heading back through Paradise Valley to Bozeman. Celebrate memories made on the trip at a farewell dinner.

Day 5: Enjoy breakfast before heading to Bozeman airport (BZN) for your travels home.

FAQ's

What is the cost for the trip?

The price for the 5 day, 4 night adventure in Yellowstone is $3,495. This includes professional guide services, use of spotting equipment, photos of you on your adventure, meals, lodging, and transportation throughout. This price includes sharing a room with one other participant (see below).

How many people will be on the trip? Will I get my own room?

There will be 6 to 7 participants on the trip, plus 2-3 guides.

The price listed above is for a double-occupancy room, which means you would share with one other participant. If you would like your own room, or would like to come with a group and share a room, please reach out to ask about differences in trip cost.

What is not included?

The following are not included in trip price: Airfare to/from Bozeman; gratuities for trip guide(s); alcoholic beverages with meals; personal expenses such as travel insurance or extra hotel nights

Are there any other dates offered?

If enrollment for the January 8th-12th trip fills, there may be additional dates to offer. If you or your group are interested in another set of dates, please reach out to discuss the possibility of running a separate trip than listed here.

Who are the guides?

Professional guide services, meals, transportation, park fees, and use of spotting equipment are provided by Animals Abound, a private guide service out of Jackson, WY. Animals Abound is led by Paul Brown, who has over 20 years of experience guiding wildlife and environmental education programs. He has been part of several  research projects around Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, including the Yellowstone Wolf Project.

You will be also be accompanied by Sam Renk, creator of modern.peasant and former Education Caretaker at Mission: Wolf Sanctuary in Westcliffe, Colorado. He will offer his own experience and learnings from working alongside captive wolves during his time at the sanctuary. Sam is also an avid photographer and will take photos of the adventure along the way, offering digital copies afterward.

What type of lodging & meals?

While in Gardiner on Days 1-3, you will stay nights at 406 Lodge, a "boutique hotel" established in 2019. In Bozeman on Day 4, you'll stay the night at AC Marriott.

Breakfasts are one of two options: continental-style delivered to your room before departing or packed to enjoy on your drive into the park.

Lunches, snacks, and drinks while in YNP are prepared and provided by your guides.

Dinners in Gardiner are not included, providing you time & space to explore the city on your own. Dinners on Day 1 and Day 4 are included.
