Who’s to say

People tell me I’ve been dreaming too long. Who’s to say I wasn’t dreaming when I wrote this song? Who’s to tell me that I’m wrong?

Marcus King

So much wisdom in just three lines.

Everyone loves to pin everyone else into a box or insist on looking at the catalog of philosophies to “choose” which one is true for you. “What do you believe in?”

For me, it’s as simple is this: the more convinced you are you know what’s true, the further you are from the truth.

All things considered, out of all that seems to be going on the universe, we don’t know shit. It’s all guesswork everywhere. That’s the truth. Which now becomes a paradox, also to be found everywhere.

When it comes down to it, don’t all religions come to more or less the same conclusion?

Hindus, in their capacity for love, are indeed hairless Christians, just as Muslims, in the way they see God in everything, are bearded Hindus, and Christians, in their devotion to God, are hat-wearing Muslims

It’s wild to me how much wisdom is out there..but how we’re totally naive to it until we feel it for ourselves. We seem to take for granted the fact we don’t just come out of the womb knowing everything about everything..

When quotes have inspired me to follow some intuition or taken me to some new understanding of the world, I’ve made an effort to write them down. It seems like time to start sharing some of them. I hope they might inspire someone else struggling to make sense of all this chaos we think we understand so well.
